The 10 Day Masters

In BaZi, your Day Master is the Heavenly Stem of your birth day — the single most important character in your chart. It represents your core self: the temperament you were born with, before life experience layered anything on top.

There are exactly 10 Day Masters, one for each of the Ten Heavenly Stems. They span the Five Elements — Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water — with each element expressed in two forms: Yang (outward, assertive, expansive) and Yin (inward, adaptive, refined). Your Day Master is not a zodiac sign or a personality quiz result. It is calculated from the exact day you were born in the Chinese calendar cycle and tells you what you are fundamentally made of. Everything else in your chart builds on top of it.
