Elemental Fate, operated by Phenta LLC ("we", "us"), respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
1. Information We Collect
Birth details: the date and, if you know it, the time of your birth, and optionally the city you were born in. If you do not pick a city, we use your device's time zone. We use the city only to find its time zone and position, so we can adjust your birth hour to where the sun really was. Birth details are used to calculate your chart and to write your reading and reports.
Gender (optional): if you choose to give it, it sets the direction of your 10-year chapters. It never changes your guardian, and you can leave it out. Before you pay, you can add your gender or birth city to the same reading; after you pay, that reading's chart stays as it was.
What a shared result link shows: a shared link shows your guardian spirit, your element mix and your free summary. Anyone with the link to a result, or with its share image, sees your guardian spirit and its element, your element mix with its percentages, how your element pairs with the others, and the free written summary. Invite and compare pages show the same guardian and element mix. It does not show your birth date, birth time, birth city, time zone or gender, your 8 birth characters, your 10-year chapters or your outlook for the year. Those stay visible only to you.
Who can open the paid full reading: the browser that made the reading, a browser where you opened a private link we emailed you, or your signed-in account if you were signed in when you made the reading. A shared result link alone never opens it.
Email address: you can ask us to email your guardian from the browser that made the reading. We send that email through our email provider, Resend, and keep the address with the reading it was for; if the reading is deleted, that record goes with it. If you also tick the yearly note, we first send you a link to confirm, and only after you confirm do we add you to that list. Emails that can lead to further email carry an unsubscribe link. When you unsubscribe we keep your address on a separate do-not-email list, even if your readings are later deleted, and check that list before we send any email.
Private reading link: after you pay, you can ask us to email a private link to your reading so you can open it on another phone or computer. We send it to the email address you gave Stripe at checkout, which we look up from Stripe for that purpose. Anyone with that link can open your reading for 30 days, so please do not forward it.
Account information: email address and name when you sign in via Google or email.
Payment information: processed securely by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers. We keep a record of each payment (the Stripe checkout reference, amount, currency and which reading it was for).
Usage data: pages visited, features used and interactions, collected with Google Analytics, Meta Pixel and our own page-view log for service improvement and advertising. We do not send your birth date, birth time, birth city or gender to these analytics tools, and we remove the Stripe checkout reference from the page address before they load; the birth details you type travel to our calculator inside your browser, not in the page address.
Cookies we set ourselves: a sign-in cookie when you have an account; a small signed cookie that remembers which readings this browser made (up to 50, kept for up to 400 days, paid ones first), so only you can open their full charts and paid reports; and a short-lived signed cookie (24 hours) that ties a checkout to the browser that started it.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Calculate your chart and write your BaZi reading and reports
- Process payments and let only the person who made a reading open its full chart and paid report
- Save your readings and purchase history
- Send the emails you ask for: your guardian email, your private reading link, receipts and sign-in links
- Send the yearly note, only if you confirmed it by email (you can unsubscribe at any time)
- Keep a do-not-email list so we never email an address that unsubscribed
- Measure and improve the service, and measure our advertising
3. Data Storage
Your data is stored securely on Supabase (cloud infrastructure) and processed in various jurisdictions where our distributed team operates. We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Stripe: payment processing
- Supabase: data storage and authentication
- Google Analytics: usage analytics
- Meta Pixel: advertising analytics
- Anthropic (Claude AI): report generation
5. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies for authentication and analytics. Third-party analytics services (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel) may set their own cookies. By using our service, you consent to the use of these cookies.
6. Your Rights
You may:
- Request access to your personal data
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time
- Opt out of analytics tracking via browser settings
7. Data Retention
We retain your data as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by contacting us. Payment records are retained as required by law.
